Price inflation in Slovakia has already peaked, slowing to 13.8% in April, with food prices also falling, stated the Institute of Financial Policy (IFP) of the Slovak Finance Ministry in an overview of current economic developments. It recalled that the year-on-year rate of price growth slowed down by 1 percentage point (p.p.) in April. Higher food and energy prices in particular are still influencing the development, but price increases for other goods and services are also high.
Although prices of some agri-commodities (sunflower, rapeseed, milk, butter) are already showing a decline, food prices are likely to fall more significantly only in the second half of the year," the IFP announced.
