Approximately €70-80 million could be allocated to increase teachers' salaries next year, if the state budget allows it, said Education Minister Peter Pellegrini on Monday. This would be similar to this year’s 5% hike. The minister said in this respect that he might even push for a change in the constitutional amendment to the debt brake legislation in order to pave the way for higher salaries.
