The Information Offices for Crime Victims located in 16 towns and cities across Slovakia have helped more than 3,200 people so far, the Interior Ministry's press department has informed TASR. "The Information Offices have become a safe space for citizens in difficult or even life-threatening situations to seek help, advice, and information in order to deal with their problems," stated the ministry. The Information Offices are equipped to help elderly victims along with victims of assaults, hate speech and human-trafficking, plus all victims of the war in Ukraine living in Slovakia. The largest number of recorded cases was in the age category of 18 to 60, with 1,406 cases. Another 1,052 cases involved seniors of 60-years of age and above. In 680 cases, the individuals refused to give their age, and 47 cases concerned underage victims. The Information Offices also provide educational activities aimed at prevention for seniors and youth. They have organised 2,613 activities so far attended by 70,220 participants. A total of 492 of these activities have been held in Bratislava region.
