The upcoming snap general election will take place on September 30 as there are not enough MPs to vote for an earlier term, Parliamentary Chair Boris Kollar (Sme rodina) stated.
Kollar said this in reaction to a Smer-initiated extraordinary session that is meant to reschedule the election to early July. The parliamentary chair claimed that the session will be convened either on Thursday or Friday.
"These efforts by [Smer leader Robert] Fico and [Hlas leader Peter] Pellegrini are only an empty bubble and serve to attract more attention from the media," remarked Kollar.
