The main goal of the Cannondale cycling team on the 101st Tour de France was certainly to lead the 24 year Slovak cyclist Peter Sagan to win his third green jersey in succession.
Peter Sagan won the point classification of the famous road cycling race by breaking his own record from 2012, earning 431 points and leaving his sprinting competitor Alexander Kristoff 149 points behind. “Every year is different. I'm happy with the form I had during this Tour,” concluded Sagan, who since today ranks in 9th place on the UCI list. The other Slovak cyclist in the peloton, Peter Velits of BMC Racing team, ended up in 27th place. The overall winner of the 101st Tour de France was Italian Vincenzo Nibali.
