Interim PM not in favour of caretaker government

In an unscheduled speech delivered on public-service broadcaster RTVS on Thursday, May 4, evening, Interim Premier Eduard Heger said that he could not imagine a caretaker government and that he wants to lead the country into the snap election as premier. Heger said he would hold talks with President Zuzana Caputova, taking up the stance that he wants to steadily bring the country into the snap election as premier. "I'll respect it if she has a different opinion and decides otherwise," he stated. Heger admitted that Slovakia has found itself in chaos and a serious crisis. "I believe that together we'll find the best way to lead Slovakia during a crisis of chaos," he added. Heger cannot imagine a caretaker government assuming power at this time. He claimed that current ministers would be replaced by people who might have good intentions but no experience.
