Survey: Zuzana Caputova most credible politician

According to a recent survey carried out by the Median agency, President Zuzana Caputova is the most credible politician in Slovakia, enjoying the trust of 41 percent of the respondents. Caputova was followed by ex-premier Peter Pellegrini, who was seen as credible by 29 percent of the respondents, Smer-SD leader Robert Fico on 26 percent, interim Premier Eduard Heger on 22 percent, and Sme rodina chair Boris Kollar on 21 percent. The least credible politician, according to the survey, was Slovenska národna strana (SNS) leader Andrej Danko, who is trusted by 7 percent of respondents.

The survey also asked about people's lack of trust towards politicians with the following results: Caputova - 48 percent; Pellegrini - 59 percent; Fico - 62 percent; Heger - 65 percent; Kollar - 66 percent; and Danko - 57 percent. In addition, the respondents were asked about their perception of the USA and Russia, with the former being viewed as a threat by 41 percent and the latter by 46 percent. In terms of international institutions and organisations, the Visegrad Four (50 percent) and the European Union (49 percent) emerged as the most credible in the survey. They were followed by NATO (48 percent) and the United Nations (47 percent). The survey was carried out on a sample of 1,057 respondents between March 6 and April 2.
