Richard Sulik will be the chairman of the Sloboda a Solidarita (SaS) party for another four years, with the party re-electing him to the post at a congress in Jasná (Žilina region) on Saturday. In addition, SaS also elected members of the republican council and other party bodies. The liberals elected to the republican council Juraj Droba, Karol Galek and Radovan Geci for four years and Michal Uhercik for two years. "I'll lead the party to the election with a clear claim, with a clear ambition to win the election," stated Sulik, thanking for the votes obtained in the election. He added that following the election of the missing members of the republican council, this body will be complete again, and at its next meeting, he will propose electing Jana Bitto Ciganikova as the vice-chair of the party.
SaS was also supposed to talk at the congress about possible cooperation with Voice-SD. Sulik said that after the opinion of the majority of the members was expressed, this point was removed from the agenda. He believes that SaS will have better alternatives than Voice-SD when building a coalition. He cannot imagine that Voice-SD chairman Peter Pellegrini would lead the country.
