A flood wave in the wake of big storm in Vratna Dolina devastated Terchova, in the area of the Zilina region, in the Mala Fatra mountains on Monday. The flood completely devastated the road leading from Terchova to the cable-car that takes tourists up to Chleb mountain.
This happened just a week before the big international folk festival ' Janosik days' was supposed to take place. After the Monday events the organisers thought about cancelling the event that annually attracts tens of thousands of visitors, however in the end they decided the festival will take place and in fact is starting as of Thursday. Terchova now has drinking water again and in the Tiesnavy, at the beginning of Vratna they have installed a temporary bridge which will allow people to get to accommodation in the lower part of the Vratna valley.
