All 13 Slovak MiG-29 fighters are already in Ukraine, the Ministry of Defence confirmed. After the first four fighters were flown by Ukrainian pilots in March, the other nine were flown overland. "This transfer was carried out by land with the utmost safety in mind, again a huge thank you to all the forces involved, because in such cases this is a really important and demanding logistical operation," said Slovak interim Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď.
He also recalled that the MiG-29 aircraft represent an important support to Ukraine in its defence against Russian military aggression and in the protection of human lives. "Moreover, unlike our neighbour, these aircraft were unusable for us. We are doing the right thing," Nad reminded.
