The public broadcaster RTVS should be allocated 0.15% of GDP in 2024 as the government approved on Friday the amendment to the law on the public broadcaster granted by the Culture Ministry. The original draft set the income to 0,17% GDP. The change was announced by Culture Minister Natalia Milanova at a press conference. According to her, it is the result of a compromise after discussions with the Finance Ministry and representatives of RTVS. "It is the minimum acceptable limit, we could not go lower. This amount will ensure that RTVS can operate independently and predictably in terms of financing," she added.
