Defence Minister Naď received a medal from his Ukrainian counterpart

Interim Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď received a medal from his Ukrainian counterpart Oleksii Reznikov during his recent trip to Ukraine. He earned the honour for his extensive support for Slovakia's eastern neighbour in its fight against the Russian invasion, constructive cooperation and developing ties in the area of defence. "This award belongs to all those who have contributed to the many lives in Ukraine that we have been able to save via good and timely decisions. Without the support of our colleagues in the government, and the right foreign policy settings, the damage in Ukraine would have been much greater. I am grateful for the opportunity to visit our Ukrainian friends again, to see their faces and their determination to win their fight for freedom. It is unbelievable, but one realises how close human suffering, destruction and terror left behind by the Russian army is close to the [Slovak-Ukrainian border] only when visiting this place. Only with our contribution will the Ukrainians finally be able to stop this evil and protect us and our homes," said Naď.
