Police release eight detainees in Daniel Tupy murder case from custody

So far, police have arrested ten people in the Daniel Tupy murder case. Eight of them have since been released. The investigation continues. No one has been charged yet. The police leadership announced this at a press conference on Thursday. Police President Stefan Hamran stressed that the police was sure at "110 per cent" that the detainees were at the scene of the crime at the time of the murder. "We felt the need to send a clear signal that the release of the eight persons does not mean the end of the investigation," Hamran noted on Thursday, adding that he would not provide further information on the police's actions. Lubomir Daňko, director of the National Criminal Agency, added that some of the acts were time-barred. The Faculty of Arts student, Daniel Tupý, was murdered in November 2005 on Tyrsovo bank in Bratislava. He suffered eight stab wounds.
