COVID-19 patients will not have to stay isolated for several days. The obligation is to be scrapped as of 20th March, more than 2 years after the outbreak of the pandemic. This was confirmed by the chief hygienist Jan Mikas. COVID-19 patients will be in the care of their GPs who will decide on their treatment as well as provide them with the sick leave. Those positively tested for COVID-19 will be treated the same way as patients with other respiratory diseases. “Mandatory isolation is not necessary at the moment due to the currently circulating variants and the ratio of recovered and/or completely vaccinated,” said Mikas. As he added, COVID has reached the level of common respiratory diseases.
