In its special report, the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic draws attention to a number of problems in the healthcare sector. It points to the inaccuracy of data at the ministry, the unsustainable financing of state outpatient surgeries, a non-functioning DRG system or insufficient use of the eHealth system. All this stems from last year's audits in the health sector, which was taken note of by the government on Wednesday. The health ministry has had almost 20 ministers in the last 30 years. "If you have a minister who hasn't even been in office for a year and a half, he or she can't sustain any meaningful strategy and then all that is done is maintenance. It has nothing to do with strategic management," said Lubomír Andrassy, chair of the office. The Supreme Audit Office identified the unreliability and inaccuracy of the information collected in the health sector as a problem. Problems are also with the use of digital technology.
