Interim Prime Minister Eduard Heger left for a two-day working visit to Israel, where on Monday he met his counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Isaac Herzog. The meetings focused on bilateral relations and the current situation in the world. During his visit to Israel, the premier is to visit the Weizmann Institute of Science, which is one of the world's leading scientific institution. As Eduard Heger stated on his social network profile, one of the Slovak priorities, which he came to discuss in Israel, is also building innovation capacities. While in Israel, Slovak Prime Minister should also visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem. One of the tasks of the museum is also to award people of non-Jewish origin the title Righteous Among the Nations, for risking their lives during the Holocaust to save persecuted Jews from death. As of January 1, 2022, a total of 638 names of Slovak citizens have been engraved on the Wall of Honour.
