The funeral of film director and screenwriter Juraj Jakubisko took place in St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle on Saturday, March 4. The final farewell to the legend of Czechoslovak film was attended by various public personalities from both the Slovak and Czech cultural scene. A family friend of the Jakubisko family, Czech ex-president Vaclav Klaus, read the eulogy. Slovak singer Katarina Knechtova performed a song that she composed for Jakubisko's famous historical movie Bathory. Juraj Jakubisko passed away at the age of 84 in Prague on Friday, February 24.
