Food prices in Slovakia are rising extremely rapidly, and the current interim government is not able to address it, the profits of chain stores are growing fast and they are lying to consumers, stated the head of the opposition Smer-SD party Robert Fico and other party representatives at a press conference on Thursday. The Agriculture Ministry responded that it is aware of the negative impact of inflation on the price of not only food but almost all aspects of production and services. However, Smer-SD leader Robert Fico, as a former prime minister, should know the powers of this ministry, which under no circumstances must enter pricing and market relations.
