The head of the extra-parliamentary Voice-SD party Peter Pellegrini held talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin on Thursday about the German economy as well as a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine. Pellegrini also met in Berlin with the chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) caucus for foreign relations Nils Schmidt.
Ahead of the meeting, Pellegrini posted on a social network that Slovakia must monitor the development of the German economy because it is dependent on it and a significant part of Slovak production ends up in German markets. He also agreed with the German representatives on the need for close cooperation between the SPD and Voice-SD parties on a bilateral and European level.
