An instructor shot a first-year student during training at the Police Academy in Bratislava, academy rector Lucia Kurilovska told TASR on Wednesday, adding that the female cadet was taken to hospital with injuries. "As part of the training, which students have the opportunity to attend in their free time, there was such an unfortunate incident when a student was shot and wounded by an instructor," Kurilovska told TASR, adding that paramedics and the police were immediately called to the scene. Bratislava University Hospital spokesperson Eva Kliska confirmed for TASR that the hospital had received a person with gunshot wounds on Wednesday afternoon. "Due to the sensitivity of the entire case, we won't provide further information," she added. The police have launched criminal proceedings concerning an accident at the Police Corps Academy in Bratislava.
