Bucharest 9 meeting in Warsaw, attended also by US President J. Biden

On Wednesday morning, Slovak President Zuzana Caputova travelled to Warsaw for a meeting with the leaders of the Bucharest Nine (B9) countries and US President Joe Biden. The subject of their discussions should be strengthening of the security of the eastern wing, defence spending and supporting Ukraine. Bucharest Nine format gathers countries on the eastern border of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the United States takes place symbolically at the time of the first anniversary of the outbreak of war in Ukraine. The meeting takes place shortly after Biden's visit to Kyiv. Zuzana Caputova sees Wednesday's discussion as one of a series that precede preparations for the July NATO summit in Vilnius. Another Bucharest Nine meeting will take place in Bratislava in June.
