Slovak-Hungarian 'Baracka' anti-drug raid

The National Crime Agency in cooperation with the Hungarian police carried out an anti-drug operation codenamed 'Baracka', the Slovak police report on a social network. Baracka refers to a strong spirit in Hungarian. The raid was aimed at documenting an organised group of criminals of Slovak nationality that was allegedly committing drug crimes in Slovakia and Hungary from 2021. During the operation, 12 persons of Slovak nationality were detained. In the village of Szaszfa, they allegedly had a laboratory for the production of methamphetamine, which they reportedly distributed through other people to Kosice. The Hungarian police seized the laboratory along with 700 grams of methamphetamine, 1,000 grams of the intermediate product just before the end of the boil, and more than €37,000. The Slovak police intervened in Kosice and Roznava (Kosice region), conducting several inspections of various premises and several vehicles. They seized a large amount of marijuana, ephedrine pills and cash. During the searches, they also found items originating from thefts in the Kosice region.
