President: cooperation with the interim government is intensive

Cooperation with the interim government is very intensive, President Zuzana Caputova stated on Wednesday at a press briefing in Kezmarok, adding that she had already submitted more than 80 materials in more than a month. "Each one of them must be assessed both in terms of powers and in terms of content. Communication takes place almost daily but it must be said that not every document approved by the government is subject to my approval. There are also decisions that don't require approval, and there are also those where my consent isn't necessary because the government as dismissed doesn't have that power. There have also been things that I didn't approve, and there have also been things that I returned to the interim government," said the president. According to her, the decisions on which the government can no longer decide are special. These are serious issues of domestic or foreign policies and according to Caputova, it is not entirely clear which documents fall under this definition. "Practice shows that some strategic documents, the approval of which is a prerequisite for drawing EU funds, are controversial, whether they fall into one area or another. It would be very practical to approve them so that municipalities can draw EU funds. I wouldn't oppose, in the future, a closer specification of what are serious issues in our legislation," she pointed out.
