Lunch subsidies for all children attending the last year of nursery schools and elementary schools will be resumed as of this May, according to an amendment to the law on aid for people in material need, approved by Parliament on Tuesday.
Within it, MPs agreed with an amending proposal submitted by MP Petra Kristufková (Sme Rodina). The subsidy will amount to €1.40 for nursery schools, €2.10 for the first four grades of elementary schools and €2.30 for the fifth to ninth grade of elementary schools. Parents will have to apply for the subsidy when registering their child for meals in a school canteen.
This year's cost of the measure to the state should reach €110 million. (TASR)
