On Tuesday morning, President Zuzana Čaputová received Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, who arrived on an official visit to Slovakia. This is the first official visit of the Austrian President to Slovakia since his re-election. The meeting took place just a few days after his inauguration last week. This was announced in a press release by the President's spokesperson Martin Strižinec. The main topics of the joint talks are bilateral relations, the political and security situation in the region in the context of the war in Ukraine, as well as the rule of law and the solution of the energy and climate crisis. In the afternoon, the Austrian President also met with Prime Minister Eduard Heger at the Slovak Government Office in Bratislava.
