Agreement with Germany on Leopard tanks coming to Slovakia still holds

“The agreement with Germany that Leopard 2A4 tanks will be sent to Slovakia is still valid,” said interim Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad (OLANO) following the Cabinet session on Wednesday. The first of the fifteen Leopard 2A4 tanks were handed over to the Slovak Armed Forces in December, while the rest should arrive gradually as of this March. They are a replacement for the 30 infantry combat vehicles that Slovakia donated to Ukraine. Furthermore, Ukraine has showed interest in 14 more Zuzana 2 howitzers from Slovakia. The defence ministry is currently in the negotiation phase. Ukraine took delivery of the eighth Slovak-made Zuzana 2 self-propelled gun howitzer in mid-January.
