At its session on Wednesday, the Government is set to deal with a concept for protecting consumers and avoiding energy poverty, as submitted by the Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (URSO).
Optimising supply and network tariffs, offering free instalment calendars and energy consulting and banning door-to-door energy sales might help protect vulnerable people in Slovakia from energy poverty, reads the concept.
The Cabinet of interim Premier Eduard Heger (OLANO) will also decide on allocating €22 million from the recovery plan for purchasing 197 new ambulances for state-run emergency services. The project should increase the safety and quality of health care.
The Government should also approve draft crisis measures for the Health Ministry. Interim Health Minister Vladimir Lengvarsky (an OLaNO nominee) should inform the Government regarding how they are being carried out once a month.
The Finance Ministry has submitted to the Government a document laying out the reasons for the volume of Slovakia's gross debt and a proposal for measures aimed at reducing it. Slovakia's public debt will be temporarily stabilised below 60 percent of GDP in the upcoming years even without additional government austerity measures, states the document. (TASR)
