Matovic back in parliament as MP

OLaNO leader and ex-finance minister Igor Matovic has returned to Parliament as an MP, with OLaNO MP Sebastian Kozarec vacating his seat for the ex-minister.
Matovic was tasked with leading the Finance Ministry until December 23, officially claiming his seat in Parliament the day after. At the beginning of the parliamentary session on Tuesday, MPs approved a resolution noting that President Zuzana Caputova has accepted a proposal to revoke Matovic's mandate to act as a member of the government.
Matovic resigned as Finance Minister after Parliament in December approved the state budget for this year. He offered his resignation to SaS MPs in return for their support for the budget. The ministry is currently being led by interim Premier Eduard Heger (OLaNO). (TASR)
