OLaNO will hold a congress after it is decided what will happen next with the party, OLaNO leader Igor Matovic stated on Thursday, adding that it's also possible that acting Prime Minister Eduard Heger could leave OLaNO and create a new entity.
Matovic added that there are several scenarios, justifying it with tactics to ensure success of democratic parties in a parliamentary election. "We're really non-standard in politics," stated Matovic, noting that they're also looking at the best interest of Slovakia when asking questions about the future of their party. It wouldn't bother him if some would leave OLaNO, for example, for the Christian Democrats (KDH) or another democratic party, which would then make it into Parliament. He didn't rule out that the party will change its name again and added that they no longer want Jan Budaj's Zmena Zdola on its slate.
Regarding an amendment to the Constitution in connection with the early election, OLaNO representatives announced the conditions for its support. Matovic talks about the need to protect the electoral system to make it harder to change, claiming that there is a "significant threat" from the opposition in this regard. (TASR)
