The government should help schools financed from the state budget with high energy prices, first by compensating arrears for 2022. In the second step, based on data collection, they should increase their budgets so that they can pay their current obligations to energy suppliers. The procedure is the result of the talks among acting Education Minister Jan Horecky, temporary Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO), the Finance Ministry and the Economy Ministry. The two-step compensation applies to schools financed directly from the state budget, for example, primary, secondary or special schools. In the coming days, the collection should be launched to compensate for energy arrears for 2022. At the beginning of February, the collection of data on the increase in electricity and gas rates should follow, starting with invoices for January 2023.
