President meets representatives of churches and religious societies

President Zuzana Caputova on Thursday received representatives of Churches and religious societies in Slovakia to discuss cooperation, hope, solidarity and unity.
"When I spoke about the social situation, it was interesting for me to listen to the observations of individual Church leaders on how they assess this. Of course, there were opinions that there is growing tension, frustration, perhaps even loss of hope, as to whether it is possible to live a dignified life in Slovakia," stated the president, adding that concerns were also voiced that every representative of a world of values and opinions who believes in these notions feels threatened or ridiculed in Slovakia.
"We also discussed possible ways out of this; how everyone can help so that we can live better lives in Slovakia," noted Caputova, remarking that someone at the meeting promoted "not elevating conflicts and differences above cooperation".
According to the president, another important element at the meeting was the emphasis put on action and aid. In this vein, she stated that the representatives called for mutual cooperation with each other. Caputova remarked that this was the case last year, for instance, when Churches joined forces to help with the influx of Ukrainian refugees into Slovakia. (TASR)
