A gala evening marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic will take place at the Slovak National Theatre (SND) on Saturday, January 7, TASR has learnt from the Government Office. The event, starting at 7 p.m., will be attended by top state officials as well as important guests from abroad, said the office.
This year, Slovakia is commemorating the 30th anniversary of its independence. After 74 years, two months and three days of the existence of Czechoslovakia, two separate states, i.e. the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, came into being at the stroke of midnight on December 31, 1992. (TASR)
