The Slovak Post released the stamp Honour Guard of the President

On Monday, the Slovak Post issued a postage stamp with the name Honour Guard of the President of the Slovak Republic. The stamp is released on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Slovak Republic. It depicts a member of the guard of honour in a 19th-century historical uniform standing in front of the presidential palace in Bratislava. The stamp was accompanied by a first-day cover with an FDC postmark dated 2 January 2023 and the domicile of the City of Bratislava. "The motif of the FDC imprint is marching members of the Guard of Honour in uniforms based on the pattern 1. Czechoslovak Republic. The author of the photographs on the stamp and the FDC is Peter Konečný and the author of the graphic design of the issue is Adrian Ferda," said Iveta Dorčáková, spokeswoman of the Slovak Post. A separate unit of the Honour Guard of the President of the Slovak Republic was established on 1 August 2001. The Honour Guard of the President is a symbol and one of the attributes of Slovak statehood.
