The highest proportion of Christians among all regions of the Slovak Republic lives in the Prešov region - 83.45% (or 674,338 inhabitants belonging to a Christian church). In the Bratislava region 49.9% of all inhabitants in the region) claim to be Christians (358,850 people), which is the lowest proportion of all regions in the Slovak Republic," said Jasmína Stauder, spokesperson for the 2021 Census of Population, Houses and Flats (SODB). In the remaining six regions, the proportion of Christians ranges from 63.5% to 75.2%. Out of a total population of 5,449,270, 3,733,783 (68.5%) report belonging to a Christian church.
