On Wednesday, the Slovak U20 national team defeated USA 6:3 in the group stage of the U20 World Championship in Moncton, Canada. Slovak Libor Nemec scored the first goal only after 134 seconds of the game, however Americans responded with two goals, leading 2:1 after the first period. However, Slovaks dominated in the second period winning it 3:0. Both teams recorded one goal in the last period, nevertheless, Slovakia added one more into an empty net to seal a surprising victory.
"It was a world-class match and we are extremely grateful because such a victory is extremely motivating and will make us stronger for the remainder of the tournament," said Slovak coach Ivan Feneš.
