On Thursday, Miroslav Číž, MEP for the Smer-SD party who also served as Slovak MP in the past passed away at the age of 68. "Our great friend, colleague and publicly respected expert and politician Miroslav Číž left us forever today in the morning hours," the party wrote in a statement. Číž had health problems throughout the year, but the party did not want to talk about the details at the request of his family.
