This year's Christmas Eve was the warmest on record, with the Bratislava Airport meteorological station measuring the air temperature of 14.1 degrees Celsius, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Office (SHMU) reported on a social network on Sunday. "According to the data, the maximum day temperature record was broken particularly in southwestern Slovakia. For instance, the temperature rose to 14 degrees Celsius in Hurbanov, whereas the previous 2009 record stood at 13.1 degrees Celsius," reads the post.
A new record was set also at the Bratislava Airport. "Yesterday, we measured 14.1 degrees Celsius there, whereas in 2014 it was "only" 13.9 degrees Celsius," wrote the meteorologists. For comparison, in the village of Dlhona (Presov region), the temperature dropped to 2.5 degrees Celsius.
