Slovak kickboxer Alexandra Filipová became the professional world champion of women's K1 WAKO Pro up to 71 kg. The Slovak won the title after her victory over Serbian Aleksandra Krstić at the World Games in non-Olympic sports in Birmingham.
Filipová unsuccessfully fought Krstić in the World Games finals in mid-July. She lost despite an even fight at all three judges' scorecards. Alexandra Filipová fought for the first time in her life in a match for five three-minute rounds. She rose to the challenge and eventually won 3-0 on points.
