At Thursday's press conference, only a few hours ahead of the no confidence vote in the government, Finance Minister Igor Matovic (OLaNO) reported that he is willing to resign if the opposition SaS party withdraws its support for a vote of no-confidence in the Government in Parliament and backs the 2023 state budget. Premier Eduard Heger (OLaNO) views it as a fair offer. He is due to meet SaS head Richard Sulik ahead of the vote in the Parliament. Earlier in the week, President Zuzana Caputova also met Prime Minister Eduard Heger to discuss how the current political situation is developing. The president considers a caretaker government to be a last resort.
