Had a general election taken place at the beginning of December, it would have been won by the extra-parliamentary Hlas-SD party on 19.9% of the votes ahead of the opposition Smer-SD party on 15.8%, shows a poll by Focus agency. The non-parliamentary Progresívne Slovensko would be third, on 10.3% ahead of the extra-parliamentary far right Republika (7.9%) the opposition Sloboda a Solidarita (SaS - 7.7%), the coalition Sme rodina party (7.3%), the main governing Obyčajní ľudia party (7%), the non-parliamentary Christian Democrats (KDH - 6%), and the ethnic Hungarian Aliancia (5.1%).
The Slovenská Národná Strana (SNS) would have failed to get into the House, as it would have garnered only 3.7%. Other parties under the 5-percent threshold included the far-right Ľudová Strana Naše Slovensko (LSNS - 3%), the smallest governing party Za ľudí (2.7%), the Maďarské fórum (1.6%), 'Dobrá voľba a Umiernení' (1.1%) and Spolu (0.7%).
