Support for Ukraine

Chief of Slovak diplomacy Rastislav Kacer along with Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad and Economy Minister Karol Hirman visited Kiev on Thursday to reaffirm the continuing Slovak support for Ukraine. The three ministers met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, First Deputy Chief of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Kornienko, Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal and their ministerial counterparts. Foreign Minister stated that Slovakia want Ukraine to last through the upcoming winter season. Ukraine will receive a winter aid package worth about €800,000 including generators, air heaters, repair material for damaged energy infrastructure, blankets, pillows and first-aid kits. Kacer added that Slovakia is also prepared to help with the reconstruction of damaged bridges, factories, heat stations and transport infrastructure.
