The Interior Ministry has decided to cut the number of tents in the Kuty refugee camp by half, in response to the declining number of illegal migrants in Slovakia, TASR was told by ministry spokesperson Zuzana Eliasova on Wednesday. "The average number of persons in need of emergency accommodation over the course of one week stands at 59, so half of the original 16 tents will be removed," she said, adding that the disinfection and removal of internal equipment is currently taking place. In the future, the ministry does not plan to establish any new tent camps. "It is likely that illegal migration will continue to decrease and the tent camp in Kuty might be dismantled altogether soon," she said, adding that housing in buildings in Rohovce and Opatovska Nova Ves will remain available in case of future need.
