Premier at EU-Western Balkans summit

Prime Minister Eduard Heger drew attention to the need for cohesion in the fight against the energy crisis at the EU-Western Balkans summit held in Tirana, Albania on Tuesday. "All the Western Balkans countries are exposed to the whole energy crisis as we are," stated Heger. As he added, the participants also focused on how to help from Europe with significant investments in the diversification of energy sources in the Western Balkans. According to Heger, EU member countries are allocating more than €1 billion for this. Following the talks in Tirana on Tuesday, the leaders said in a joint declaration, among other things, that the common position of the Western Balkan countries with the EU is a clear sign of their strategic orientation, especially at a time when Russia is escalating its aggression against Ukraine. According to the leaders, Russia is responsible for the current energy and economic crisis.
