Following a meeting with his counterparts from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Kacer stated that Slovakia is preparing for a possible next wave of refugees from Ukraine in connection with the ongoing Russian attacks on its critical infrastructure. However, it also wants to help the country build its own capacities for internally displaced people.
The minister pointed out that the Slovak Security Council has already dealt with a document on a potential new wave of refugees, which is counting on various alternatives. Poland is also ready to receive more Ukrainians, stated Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, drawing attention to Russia's "barbaric terrorist attacks" on Ukraine's critical infrastructure. The head of Czech diplomacy, Jan Lipavsky, called the attacks in Ukraine barbaric and a war crime, stressing that the Russian leadership will have to be held accountable for these actions.
