Prime Minister Eduard Heger announced a solution to the spending limits in the budget. According to him, a "clause" should be added to the law, which would say that at a time when the European Union rules do not apply to the budgets of the member states, the spending limits in Slovakia will not apply either. This step, according to him, is pre-consulted with the European Union. He said this on RTVS 24 Interview :24. As Heger explained, if citizens and companies are to be helped next year, spending limits cannot be introduced. Consolidating finances, according to him, is necessary in good times. As he recalled, Slovakia has decided to introduce spending limits and plans to implement them. They should be applied for next year. "For the third year in a row, the European Commission itself has not applied the rules to the budgets of the member states because it understands that we are in a crisis, so it relaxes them every year," he noted.
