The National Crime Agency (NAKA) has launched criminal proceedings over suspicions of corruption in the case of Slovakia's involvement in the alleged abduction of Vietnamese national Trinh Xuan Thanh from Germany to Vietnam in 2017, police chief Stefan Hamran reported on Wednesday. Hamran noted that the police are fully aware of the case and he personally is disturbed by it. "The launched proceedings are in an early stage on which I can't comment publicly at the moment," he said. The police chief claimed that the case has not been dealt with by the police so far, but by the Interior Ministry Inspectorate under the supervision of a regional prosecutor's office.
