2021-2027 Operational Programme approved by EC

The European Commission has approved Operational Programme Slovakia, allowing the country to draw almost €13 billion from new EU funds. Investment Minister Veronika Remisova informed on Thursday that the money would be invested in improving the quality of people's lives, energy security, digitisation and greed solutions. The key areas of support under Operational Programme Slovakia 2021-2027 are as follows: a more competitive and smarter Slovakia (€1.9 billion), a greener Slovakia (€4.2 billion), a more connected Slovakia (€2 billion), a more social and inclusive Slovakia (€3.3 billion) and a Europe closer to its citizens (€400 million). The remaining €410 million is earmarked for technical assistance. The biggest portion of the €12.59 billion package in the programme has been allocated to green and climate objectives and increasing energy security, which includes the use of renewable energy sources (€398 million), insulation and reducing the energy intensity of buildings (€722 million) and boosting the energy efficiency of enterprises (€78 million).
