Dobrá voľba a Umiernení party suspend Rudolf Kusy´s membership

The non-parliamentary Dobrá voľba a Umiernení (Good Choice and Moderates) party suspended the membership of former mayor of Bratislava Nove Mesto district Rudolf Kusý. The party also reported that a media agency with which the unsuccessful Bratislava mayoral candidate had cooperated is still owed about €41,000, with respect to the 'Good Choice and Moderates'. "We had no prior information about the existence of this financial commitment. We're already in talks with the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) and 'We Are Family' parties that financially supported the candidacy of Mr. Kusy," stated party chair Tomas Drucker. The party had contributed €105,000 to Rudolf Kusy´s campaign via a transparency account and stands ready to defray a share of the additional expenditure as well. Last week, Rudolf Kusy was charged with aggravated bribery as part of the police operation nicknamed Development. He faces allegations that as a public official he accepted or asked for bribes on a large scale, which according to the Criminal Code means €133,000 or more. He denies any guilt and resigned as the borough mayor shortly before his tenure expired.
