The police have launched criminal proceedings concerning a number of manhole covers that were suddenly blasted into the air on a section of Prievozska Street in Bratislava on Monday evening. "According to the information so far, an unknown perpetrator caused a total of ten manhole covers installed on both the pavement and road on a section of Prievozska Street to fly into the air, probably by negligence," Bratislava region police spokesman Michal Szeiff told TASR. According to the spokesman, no one sustained any injuries during the incident, but buildings in the vicinity of the area had to evacuated for a necessary period of time.
