Slovak movie Cenzorka (107 Mothers) directed by Peter Kerekes and produced by Ivan Ostrochovsky will compete for the European Film Academy (EFA) award. The academy last week published the nominations for its 35th annual awards, also called the European Oscars. Cenzorka has been nominated in the Best Film Debut (European Discovery - Prix FIPRESCI) category. Cenzorka tells the story of a women's prison in Odessa (Ukraine), in which Kerekes and Ostrochovsky spent six years visiting and shooting scenes. The stories of most of the protagonists are true. The EFA awards ceremony will take place in Reykjavik on December 10.
